A Lost And Found Wallet

“Ms, your prayers work.”

Last Saturday, I received this message from an international student Z.

10 days prior to this, he was absent from my class. After the class, His classmate informed me that Z had lost his wallet and was making a report at the police station. Besides the money which was quite an important sum, the access card to his residence, he was especially worried about the loss of his country ID card, which would cause him a lot of trouble to apply for a new one.

Having lost valuable things in the past when I was in a foreign country, I could feel his stress. Suddenly, the Holy Spirit prompted me to pray for him. I immediately asked for Z’s phone number from the classmate and contacted him.

“Bonjour Z, this is your lecturer here. I just heard about what happened to you regarding your wallet. God impressed upon my heart to pray for you. Are you free today to come to my office later?”

Without hesitation, he came in the afternoon and began to tell me personally about this incident. He had checked with the lost and found counter and a few places he suspected having left behind the wallet, but in vain.

I told him God had answered my prayers many years ago to even let my family member and my colleague get back their lost cars in two different occasions, which they admitted were miracles. So by faith, I also prayed for him in Jesus’ name.

Before he left, I said to him, “I believe, not just hope, that God will return everything to you. Even though it seems to be impossible because there was money in the wallet. With God, nothing is impossible.”

I saw Z three more times in the classroom after that prayer. There was no news about his wallet.

God let us patiently wait for 10 days. A receptionist from the student centre finally contacted Z, telling him that a student leader had found his wallet during a conference in a lecture hall last Saturday. It was a place where numerous students and cleaners enter and go out every day during week days. Yet, the wallet was found much later and yesterday Z confirmed to me that everything in the wallet was intact.

All the glory to God!
